Fines

Thoughts on implementing fines for certain offenses such as mutes/bans?

Would be on a case by case basis.

I personally don't see any trouble with by implementing fines. Would Definitely provide more incentive to be a good samaritan.

I support this idea.

I think fines should be based off rank and/or hours played and/or current balance. To have a fine that can decently punish someone who is Baron would completely kill someone who wasn't even free yet, and a punishment that can decently punish a C blocker would have no effect on someone who is Baron. Maybe consider fining only those who have achieved the rank of free and up. Fine seem like they'd be a little harsh on newer players.

To build on this idea I think you should also add a type of parole. If someone were to commit an offense shortly after their last the fine is much more severe.

Fines yea, but every time you get muted the price increases 1000.  Every ban / temp ban is 3500 or 5000 dollar fine.  Also I would love to have a judiciary system but why make things more complicated? Silas ( or another admin ) can resolve it pretty quick.  If there's a good quick way a judiciary system could be used I'm all for it.

I like the idea of the punishment increasing but after a certain period of time it would have to decrease back down to 1000.  Having a judicial system could be fun and add to the roleplay experience to the server but it only delays the mute/ban. It's usually pretty obvious of the guilt of someone spamming, harassing or doing something else that is a bannable offense. Most of the time a Guard/Mod/Admin will want to see the player committing the offense before taking action even if other players have seen it. Much of the judicial process already takes place on the forums.

The only way I can see a court working on MCP is with players who have repeatedly committed offensives, have a decent amount of hours on the server and a decent balance.  Basically those who are veteran members of the Server. There must be proof and evidence brought to the attention of Staff via forums, there must be a summons carried out by one of the staff and an appointed date of the hearing (probably posted on the forums so people can rsvp.) The judge would preferably be an admin and a jury appointed by the judge or those who applied on the forums for the hearing. We will need someone to be prosecutor such as Sr/Head-Staff and someone to represent the accused unless they wave console. All evidence must be posted to the a forum page before the hearing, and once the hearing is in session the page is locked and no other evidence may be provided.  After the page is locked the accused is allowed some time to review the evidence and build his defense. There must be order in the court room so anyone who speak out of turn will be muted and or face contempt of court and face solitary and or fine. If the accused is found not guilty he cannot be charged again for the same crime even if new evidence surfaces. If they are found guilty the judge will choice their punishment. If the jury is hung the judge may call for a mistrial or make the decision himself but only if the jury is unable to come to a conclusion. A mistrial can only be approved by an admin.

The judicial system by definition is a process and unless you carry it out as one it serves no purpose and doesn't need to exist in MCP. Instead I would think of it as a type of event for fun instead of an actual process to keep the server clean. Maybe we can even have an appeals court? Just ideas.

I like the idea of a judicial system, but ideas are always the easy part and execution is where I see this becoming nightmare and not to mention there aren't really enough mature players to actually have a proper jury/judge/roleplay aspect to be effective in punishing someone fairly.

Like I said, it's going to be complicated and hard to implement. The court staff will have to consistent of server staff. I don't expect the hearing to go by perfectly in a mature manner, I do want a little discord to make it fun. But I do believe there is enough maturity among our staff to carry this out.
