You're absolutely right. I can't speak for others and I'm not going to. Remember this is just my opinion and in the grand scheme of this application Silas could still make you a moderator.  Silas doesn't always reply to applications so you might not even get a denial. But what this does show is that you had interest in becoming moderator. If you keep up with showing interest while behaving on the server you should have a good chance on becoming mod. Now it's already been said that mod positions are currently full but this is your foot in the door.
