Hey there! I am Nator and welcome to the new year! 2018 is gonna be a great year! We have some news and some interviews so sit back and relax.
Mitsuo (Founder and CEO of MCP Alert) Interview
DogTag93: There seems to be a lot of activity on your recent articles on the forums. Do you care to comment and give your opinion on what is currently going on and the status of MCP Alert?
Mitsuo: MCP Alert has been pushing out a lot more issues towards the end of the year. We had a lot of these stories set up before the holidays so that our writers could take the time off and be with their families. However if you are asking about the recent "Exposing" specials, I myself have been working closely with a few of our behind the scenes writers to do the research and whatnot before posting these things. Over all we have been keeping ourselves busy, I know that I personally have been writing stories back to back and even working on several stories at once to try and keep everything up to the quality we've set for ourselves. Going into this New Year I feel MCP Alert can do nothing but grow. There will be set backs at times but we continue to strive despite these things. My own opinion on all these things that we've been doing, aka the "exposing" episodes have been a little pet project of mine. We've started working with a few other members in the community that I feel bring out the best in me. When MCP Alert first started back in the day I was working, writing, planning and editing everything by myself. It wasn't up until mid season 2 that we started getting more writers and people that have helped me further MCP Alert. Yeah it might not be the best part of our News organization but I've always told people if you don't like the content you aren't forced to read. Everyone has their own cup of tea, (Hi Miner how you doin) and if MCP Alert isn't yours then I'm not truely fused about it.
DogTag93: You bring of setbacks, if I may ask what would these be? In this "Exposing" specials you mention what do you hope to accomplish, what are your goals?
Mitsuo: Yeah setbacks, some of our setbacks might be one of our writers not sending in a story, or unable to send in a story, Not having an issue out on time just things that should be done but don't get done. I know I struggle a little bit in getting everything ready, like with our New Years Special I've had difficulty just sitting down and knocking everything out. With the story setbacks, if someone isn't able to send one in or just flat out doesn't do one one of our other writers have to pick up the slack. Back when we released one of the most infamous stories, "MCP E-Whores" we had to reach out to another user to write a story for us. If I can't find anyone else to pick up the slack in terms of writing a story I do it myself. Obviously there isn't something to always write about but we try to keep a decent length to our MCP Alert issues.
DogTag93: What is the current status of the Exposing articles? Should we expect more or is there going to be a change in pace?
Mitsuo: The Exposing specials are a side project really. For those who don't know I do actually really like to write//type these types of things. It's something to pass my time. I can be working on five or six different stories at a time because they are fun. If I'm working on a story for MCP Alert I will usually be working on an exposing issue or another story at the same time. Like when we dropped the LittleLea issue I was working on several other stories at the time. I know a lot of people think that I just waste all my time on those articles but I don't. They are more of a free time sort of thing. What they are meant to accomplish is bringing what we feel are the negatives about a person front and center. With staff they are a bit more biased as we bring up old abuse reports and all the other works but they aren't intended to get people demoted.
They are instead in hopes that the person will take what we have said about them, look how we the players, I know MCP Alert is a small majority, see some of these errors and try to work on them and fix them themselves before they do become a bigger issue. Really, what we hope to accomplish and the goal we have set for the exposing issues are the same thing. We bring up the negatives about a person and hope that they learn from them. If they do, cool, if not thats cool too.
DogTag93: What are your current feelings about some of the criticisms you are getting?
Mitsuo: The current status of MCP Alert Exposing articles hasn't changed. We will be releasing a few more of them that we have been planning but they don't really center on the staff members. The exposing articles were never made to be just about staff. I think a lot of people are forgetting that the very first exposing article was on AlphaCoolskate before he was forum banned and banned in game. These last two issues are just two of rare ones out that are covering two staff members we feel have a lot of faults that can be improved upon. Obviously we aren't clean our self either but hey, we may expose ourselves Just have to stay tuned. We do have a few more planned but we may take a break. We have one coming one a group of players actually, and if I remember correctly someone in the back is writing one up on me, so we aren't completely biased. Hahaha. Critisim isn't really anything new that MCP Alert has had to deal with. It isn't something that I'm new to dealing with either. I've been on MCP for going on four years if I haven't hit that mark already. I've dealt with a lot of critics in my time on the server. We don't always release issues that everyone is going to agree with, but saying "-1" as if it affects our feelings doesn't help. Yeah they have been people like Dogtag who give actual critisim but it's hard to really try and soak it in when everyone else is more or less bashing it because you've targetted one of the "popular" clique players. I know people try to deny that cliques on the server aren't a thing but in reality they are. They aren't hard to spot and they aren't anything new. But all in all I feel we deal with critics fairly, but at the end of the day critics don't know what's going on in the writing room. They are helpful yes, we do take some of their comments under suggestion but to take critics and what they are saying seriously everyone can't just wildly bash on something because it's attacking someone they like. It gets the readers nowhere in terms of getting something changed if you know what I mean.
DogTag93: I think that'll do it, I want to thank you for taking your time to sit down with me and answer my questions. Before I let you go is there anything you would like to say?
Mitsuo: Of course, it's different being on this side of the interview table, hahaha but all in all still fun. Honestly I feel that what I've said so far covers more or less anything. We aren't going to change anything in the near future, besides giving staff a little break. We do have a few big announcements however coming soon, a few of them will be announced within the next few days so I'm sure some of you will get excited. But to really close things out I just wanna say don't take everything we say to heart. At the end of the day we are just trying to have a laugh with the community. If someone gets their feelings hurt then that's really on them. Our intent isn't to really hurt people, but to give more of a laugh than anything. When we call out issues about a person, more specifically a staff member it's to try and get them to change some of their wrong doings and better themselves at what they are doing.
Cpt_PandaPantz (MCP Alert Writer) Interview
DogTag93: Hello and Welcome to Pjr Cpt_PandaPantz or may I call you Panda?
Cpt_PandaPantz: G'day Mate! You're more than welcome to call me Panda.
DogTag93: Very well, Panda it is. I want to thank you for taking the time to sit down with us to discuss a couple of event that have taken place over the weekend. First off, I would like to ask you thoughts and opinions about the recent controversy that took place on the forums, specifically about the newest installments of MCP Alert.
Cpt_PandaPantz: We have had a few new installments recently within MCP Alert, which installment or segment are you referring to?
DogTag93: I'm mainly referring to the Exposing articles that MCP Alert has put out. They seem to stir things up quite a bit between the members of MCP. Care to comment on the events that have taken place within this article?
Cpt_PandaPantz: The newly added exposure segment is definitely a head turner that is for sure. I don't think it was intended to become that controversial, I mean, we knew it would ruffle up some of the players considering it digs into their past reports, actions, behaviors and other consequences from duration of playtime within the prison walls of MCP. This segment isn't about exposing staff, it was more created to give other players an insight into how a player or a staff member behaves, has previously behaved and to where they are now. It's just stupid luck that two different staff members were called upon in the first two issues. I really don't want to get involved into the politics of this segment, but I will say that not all of MCP Alert writers contribute to this new segment, who knows maybe even one of our own writers may be exposed in a future issue.
DogTag93: Do you believe that the recent articles maybe went too far or maybe not far enough?
Cpt_PandaPantz: I don't actually have an opinion on this, nor do I want one. I would like to stay out of this embarkle if at all possible.
DogTag93: When it comes to MCP Alert what do you hope to achieve?
Cpt_PandaPantz: Personally, I enjoy writing stories, involving the community with the latest updates and what is or may be happening currently within the server or the forums.
DogTag93: What do you think about people’s reaction to the expose articles? Do you think people should accept some level of criticism? if so to what extent?
Cpt_PandaPantz: Personally, I don't understand why people take these things so damn seriously, it's the internet afterall. In my opinion, there is more than enough times some conflicting situations can be handled more delicately by the players responding. I see it a lot on forums (not just CDGS but forums in general), people jump straight into keyboard warrior mode to defend themselves, this in which actually gives satisfaction to the original poster, as this is the response they are hoping for. My advice would be once you have read a controversial piece, take some time to breath and think of an intelligent response that doesn't grant the poster that satisfaction. This may also stop any further controversial comments, as the players can see the offender is taking this with stride and responsibility. We have to lead by example for younger players.
DogTag93: I see, a very valid point. Maybe everyone has something to learn from those statements.
Cpt_PandaPantz: It would be nice to see a more positive influence in the way some players comment or respond on the forums, but dreams will be dreams.
DogTag93: I think that'll do Panda is there anything else you would like to add or say to the community?
Cpt_PandaPantz: Thanks for taking the time to interview me. I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and that this will be the year for them!!
We thank Mitsuo and Cpt_PandaPantz fo their time to sit down and have an interview with us. Now we move on to masterovie
Masterovie Interview
DogTag93: First off, I would like to Thank you for taking this time on the New Year to have this interview.
Masterovie: No Problem thanks for having me
DogTag93: I'm sure you're fully aware of what has taken place on the MCP forums as of late, in particular the Exposed Articles posted by MCP Alert. What are your thoughts and opinions on this matter?
Masterovie: My thought is, Lea is a good Mod and great person to be around, however there is evidence that shows that zs471 wrote her application. That is unfair for the people who actually took time writing their own app and getting denied.
DogTag93: I see, would you say that these Expose articles then do justice for the community?
Masterovie: I think it shows the community the faults of everyone which is sometimes good, but can sometimes cause un-needed commotion
DogTag93: Do you believe there is a way to show peoples faults while avoiding the commotion?
Masterovie: commotion usually involves anger and offense, and I think offense is taken not given, so technically anything anyone says can be offensive and can cause commotion. So to answer your question, no.
DogTag93: I see, how would you describe the other Expose Articles other than LittleLea's.
Masterovie: I feel like some lines have been crossed in all expose articles but you have to remember it's going to happen to everyone eventually, it just depends on how you handle getting exposed
DogTag93: I see, I want to thank you for your time. Is there anything you would like to add?
Masterovie: Thank you as well and "shoutout to Godt9, Mit, Alyssa, Chloe, Polar, Ace, and Efex"
