I have noticed recently a couple of minor problems that could lead to much bigger problems.
1. There is a lot of money floating around the server more than a healthy amount
2. Some people like myself and a few others have more than one plot I personally even have four currently. This stops newer players from buying them when they are ready.
I also have some solutions to these problems.
1. I know someone suggested taxes before but, let me expand a little bit on it. The server could impose property tax. Property tax comes by once over 24 hours ( or whenever silas wants to it ) for each of your plots. Depending on where your plot is the tax is higher or lower. Example: A plot in the wings is 1000 per day while a Main courtyard plot is 5000 per day. ( or whatever silas wants it to be ) If you miss your taxes once you get a warning/strike and a second time you lose the plot. The taxes would be auto taken from your balance so, you do not have to be online for it to happen. I know there is a plugin somewhere for this or you could make one. Also if you don't like the one strike idea you can not use it.
2. This gears more to the excess of money in the server. The server could set up a sort of lottery. There are many different lottery plugins you could look into and build one yourself. Here are some things I have seen lottery plugins do:
- People buy tickets for x dollars, winner gets 85% of total pot
- Server creates item, example: 16 dia blocks, people buy tickets, winner randomly chosen
- There is also a plugin that makes slot machines which is really fun.
