Server Reset

Breaking News: Reported from the future!

On the 25th of November at 6:15pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) a full server reset was implemented into MCP. With many loyal players eagerly awaiting the spectacular event that was about to unfold under their eyes, little did they realise, they would have to sit in the hub of MCP for up to 2 hours on this magical evening/morning. For all the players that were patient enough to hang out in the hub, were able to witness firsthand this amazing rebirth of V7, and to watch it come to life as they flooded into the prison server once Silas_Bowen gave them the green light to do so. With such a spectacular event amongst us, a generous donation to the server kick started our first day within the new V7. How lucky we were to be blessed with 3 x ores as we begun our newest adventures. A few payers jumped straight into ranking up as others saved their money to buy plots in the courtyard and/or megas.
The following day we have come to realise very few players were a little disappointed when they discovered the reset happened within days of the poll on the forums, some players with little online activity were shocked but have come to enjoy starting over and agreeing that the reset was the right choice for MCP.

Guard Scandal!:

On the night of November 24th it became apparent that the server was doing a full scale wipe and that all items would be non existent.  Knowing this Zs and serrian took it upon themselves to find a way  to rekindle their accumulated wealth in the next life. Doing so they schemed to use a long forgotten area Zs had perms to, the Info room farm, located in the unused ban section of the info room. Having speculated that the room would not be reset Zs and serrian began to mount an expedition to round up there best items and store them on a small parcel in the farm. After the they stored the items they wished they then began to purchase excess amounts of iron to store on the farm in order to maintain wealth in the next reset. It is estimated that upwards of 2.5 chest of iron blocks were purchased at an estimated 3 million in value. Serrian and Zs had thought they had it made, that they could make off like bandits and maintain their reputation of  finding ways to exploit. Hours later Silas_Bowen found the stash. When confronted zs responded in the following manner



As stated Zs and serrian were given a balance of negative 1,000,000, as a result of their attempted exploit. Since then serrian has recovered from the deficit, but Zs remains in debt.



Also as a result Zs was demoted from head guard after a short stint. Here at MCP alert we encourage you to reach out to Silas_Bowen in an attempt to persuade him to reconsider his decision. Zs is perhaps the most highly qualified person for the position and has a particular skillset that sets him apart.  #justiceforZs. Nothing has happen to serrian currently other than being fine 1 million.



MCP Alert highly encourages those to come forward with areas that may have survived the reset and it is not worth the risk. An anonymous source has reported that the citizens aparts were not reset and anyone in possession of  should come forward immediately if there items have not reset.

New Segment:

This is our new segment we are going to test over the next few issues. It will be called Grinds My Gears. Every issue our head producer will sit down and tell you, the fans, what really grinds his gears. Lets get started!

The first thing that really grinds my gears are useless guards. I won't go around pointing out any names, but I am known to throw a little bit of shade on these people. Rhymes with Bator and Pissy. Literally have no idea what was going on behind the scenes to have these kids hired into the staff but my lord. Seeing these guys try to guard, and in some cases, lack off it really grinds my gears. And this isn't even starting on low community score they hold against some of the other fine guards we have.



Scavenger Hunt Over:
The MCP Alert Scavenger Hunt is now over, the four winners, who can be found on the forum post, will be rewarded once they are regathered after the reset. We thank everyone for participating and hope to hold another one of these in the future. Speaking off our events, the dueling tournament has had some bad timing over the last few weeks however it will be taking place, if you are still interested in joining please comment your name down below to be signed up for the event. The event itself will be taking place Saturday night some time after 8pm Central Standard Time. If this time doesn't work out for you, leave a comment and we may be able to work something out that fits everyone's schedule.

Good Read; however, abusing perms is worse than what the person wanting the person to abuse their perms.  You see, the person with the perms should know it is against staff rules and is responsible for his or her account.  Being responsible for your account is one of the rules in the book.  If you need a refresher about it in game type /rules and go to Server Rules then number nine on the list.  Yes, I know this isn't hacking or something like it, but it contains part of hacking which is abusing.  Abusing is what Zs did.

I don't have anything against zs, but the rules are the rules.  I have learned the hard way a long time ago (I think 2011 or 2012) about abusing your account.  If you would like to know how I abused look in the below spoiler or just skip over it.

At one time in my Minecraft career, I was an admin on a small server.  What I did was prune the forums since I didn't know what pruning was (I know, I should have looked it up before doing it to the forums but I was young and dumb) to test it out.  Then when I saw all of the topics and posts gone I turned off the forum so people wouldn't be able to ask what happened, tell the owner of the server fixed it.  I got banned.  I asked for another chance and that i would help out with the server and the owner of the server agreed and i helped the owner make a map.  The server is now private but there is a form that you have to fill out to get into the server if they accept you.  The server only really topped about 30 players online at the same time but this was back in the bukkit days and even a bit before bukkit.

Also, you should have ads in your news (Like shops in plots) to monetize your articles.  People would read just to look at the good/great deals or at least know what people are selling without having to go everywhere.  If you don't think it is a good idea to have it in your articles, then maybe I should make an economic news for the server.  It is up to you though since this is your thread I have the time to look everywhere every day until my college work gets heavier.
