There should be a little thing next to the 'Show unread posts since your last visit' and 'Show new replies to your posts' that shows the number of unread posts next to the button. Lina like the msg thing. Just a little number caption so we don't have to actually click on the button if there are no unread posts. This would be really convenient and helpful and nice looking. Please consider.

well maybe to prevent lag, or not have to deal with lag by clicking it, and going to a new page, it can just show you if there are any unread posts. The same thing is done with messages, and a lot of other forums, and social networks have it. Its basically just a notification that there is in fact unread messages/posts.

Because its not necessary and you could just click on the link, or bookmark it if you are against clicking on it.
