1. Is your idea logical?: I guess we'll see
2. Could it be done easily?: I mean... Maybe?
3. Has something like it been done before?: No
4. Has this idea been suggested before?: No
Going to bullet these to keep them short and sweet:
1.) Make a room that all players are randomly teleported into once a day for a sort of "role call" (put it on a random timer or something). If the players are good during role call, they are rewarded with something random (A crate, cash, etc). If they misbehave (contra, pvp, etc), then they are all collectively punished via jail time or something. Only problem I can see with this idea is some random asshat would join every day for role call just to jail the whole server.
2.) Add a crate to the ./buy and ./pointshop menus that contains items that people might actually gamble with crates for (not shards!). Make it slightly more expensive money/points wise, and narrow down the pool of drops a bit. Maybe a more PvP oriented crate, or even a drug crate. Weapons, armor, drugs, and other things that would make it worth it. Calling it a "care package" may even be a smart idea, because if it's mostly contra, it's mostly stuff that's going to help you out in a prison.
3.) Add a donator item called a "pipe bomb" or something similar. It would require certain items to use (most likely gunpowder, paper, and a flint and steel) and would send an explosive projectile out of it when used. It's kind of like a grenade, but it's a mattmabs-ish item that can be used more than once. Call it "Trap's Pipe Bomb".
4.) Add some stuff to the Black Market that's not just a villager that sells drugs. Maybe add other custom NPCs that sell other contra (swords, armor, etc). I feel like the Black Market is extremely plain and needs some life. Adding Black Market Events might even be a good idea- stuff involving PvP, drugs, and maybe a maze
5.) Make some better drops for guards... Painkillers, Steroids, Guard Armor, and Guard Ingots aren't all that great. The drugs go for money, and so do the ores, but Guard Armor is more of an armor stand dust collector, because it's a KOS item anywhere in the prison... Maybe have them drop their player heads and other items like that. One thing that I thought of that I really like is having them drop a "guard key" every once and a while. A guard key could be an item that's used to get into other player's cells and other places that you're not normally allowed to be in. Maybe if a player (or a group of players) collected enough keys, they could organize an escape of some sort (this would probably just consist of them being able to go to other rank regions or roaming the free world for like two minutes before they're teleported back to the ./info room with a message that says "You were tracked down and apprehended by Silas and his guards").
6.) Add other items to the shops... The block shop and rank shops are nice and all, but I think having a shop where you can buy/sell a larger selection of items may be a good idea- or, maybe it will break the economy and boost lea up to 100mil.
7.) I think we should push the factions aspect of the game a little harder... Once they're free, most people still hang out in the prison a lot, and I don't think ranking up to free+ isn't all that worth it if you're not going to play in the free world. Most players rank up, buy plots/megas, and put all of their stuff there where nobody can get to it. I think that if we're going to be advertised as a "factions" server, we should probably peel back a bit on the plots, and push factions a bit harder. I mean, you can have up to 20 double chests on a single regular plot... That's a lot of stuff that could be raided. Not to mention the fact that you can have 20+ chests in the ./bank
8.) Make the giant city outside of the prison purposeful... It's a bunch of empty wool skyscrapers. Add shops, or events, or something...
9.) Add a rank after Baron called "Official" or "Council". Baron implies that you're loaded with money and land. After that, all you have left to go for is power. Make it the most expensive rank (obviously) and allow a special set of perms that allow them to kind of "govern" the prisoners and those below them. Maybe have them vote on things that aren't really all that important, but still need to be addressed at some point (small rules, shops, events, etc). The only problem I can see with this is corruption- people paying for votes. Also, there are a ton of people who could rank up right away considering they have 10mil+, so maybe add little quests/objectives they'd have to do.
10.) Quests, hunts, bounties, and rewards! Add daily, weekly, and monthly quests people can complete for cash and other prizes. Make them range from turning in certain items, killing guards/players, visiting certain spots in the prison (with clues as to where they are) and other things like that. Add a bounty system that players can cash in on/make hits with against players/guards (guards could be targeted, but could not make hits). Add scavenger hunts, and quests that pit players up against each other, or make them work together. Add some stuff that breaks up the normal cycle of grinding and mindless mining!
