MontrealMaven's Ban Appeal
#1
IGN: MontrealMaven
Who banned you? Polardog11
When were you banned? (Time/Date) Around 2 p.m. 9/11/16
Why were you banned? Bypass of a tempban on my other account crazy_dog713
Are you at fault? Yes
What was your rank on MCP? Citizen
Why should we unban you? I know what I did was bannable but I freaked out when I was temp banned on my other account and I only logged on to try and straighten things out, I forgot that I would be banned because of the IP. I really love this server please I do not want to be banned forever. Before all this happened on my other account (crazy_dog713) I was muted for 5 minutes, I did not intentionally log off to avoid a mute my wi-fi went out and I freaked out and went on my other account to try and straighten things out.
Additional info: Please I love this server and I do not want to be permanently banned, I realize now that it was stupid to go on my other account because it was only a 30 minute ban, I will never do this again

Whoever bans for "Avoiding mute" is a fucking idiot...never in my 3-4 years on the server have I seen a mod/A-guard and up temp ban for someone logging off while muted, if that was the case, a lot more players would be getting temp-banned/Perm banned. If you don't get what  I'm going at it means +1 for the unban.

It's not a beginning at all. Tonight is an ending.

I think what Polardog11 was getting at was crazy_dog got muted then logged onto their other account to continue talking, hence avoiding the mute.
I don't think this should have been a ban though, should of just muted the alt for the same reason the main was muted.

Possible, however from talking to both Polar and reading the appeal, it sounds more like her main was banned after logging off from the server while she was muted, and then the bypass ban was put into place after she logged onto her alt. However could just be reading it wrong and you could be right.

Either way yeah, if a user is bypassing a mute, said alt should be muted.

I did not intentionally avoid the mute I was online as my crazy_dog713 account and my Wi-Fi went out as I said in my ban appeal I freaked out and I only logged on this account cause I wanted to try and straighten things out, it was not to continue talking, if that's what it seems like I'm sorry it was not meant to look like that

Also I have been banned 3 other times for avoiding a mute, the first time I didn't know you couldn't leave the server while muted and the other two times were for the same reason as this, my Wi-Fi went out and I couldn't actually log back on.

By avoiding mute I am pretty sure it is just logging off until your mute is done, therefor avoiding it. i am pretty sure i've seen this in the rules, its just most staff do not enforce it mainly because its no big deal. And also, anytime staff gets a notification someone is on an alt whos main is banned, talk to them before banning them, ask why they are on their alt, and let them clear up things, because no one likes typing up a ban appeal. +1

+1, I myself do not know the rules well, and have bad history but I don't think this should work up to a perm ban. A temp ban would be more predictable, but a perm ban?

Bypass is always a perm ban. Why should crazy_dog713 be treated any different?
