1. Is your idea logical? Yes
2. Could it be done easily? I don't know I assume yes
3. Has something like it been done before? Yes
4. Has this idea been suggested before? Yes but only in the form of the miner armor ability

Sorry for being late, but I still think the miner having a set bonus that auto smelts gold/iron is also something to consider.
