i think there should be some way to make the mines have more light in them, because honestly, if I'm in the middle of any mine… i really can't see shit :/ like maybe put more glowstone on the walls, not just in the ladders… or sum tin… i also think there should be iron an obsidian in the donor mine

... you can change your brigtness...

google it..  something like minecraft folder, option, then you change your gamma to 100..

using torches in the mines is a waste of coal, and? if u read the rules, it says do grief the mines (basically don't place any blocks in the mines), and they just get destroyed every time the mine resets? also? i added another idea
