For the most part there is just not as prominent, if the floor steps down it is a PvP zone, or in C there is the yellow ring around it that indicate the PvP Zone. If you think of the courtyard as a level every thing that is connected to that is PvP until you move up a block, now that is not 100% true but if you use a bit of common sense and logic it is.
