The Smuggler's Code
#1
After being on this server for little more than a week I discovered a lot of secret areas.  One of which was the smuggler's code.  As a programmer I immediately threw everything I had into solving it.  I searched for hours, desperate  to find clues, to which I found many.  I found numerous clues littered throughout prison, signs telling me how to interpret other signs, signs with button numbers, and signs about jet fuel not being able to melt steel beams.  My search even led me to a suicide booth which proceeded to drop me down a 6 block deep hole repeatedly until I died.  I lost a lot of supplies looking for this f****** code.  I went to extreme measures to find these signs, one of which was outside of prison.  Finally I thought I had solved it, and I went to the smuggler's code with a glimpse of hope, confident that I would be able to enter.  When I got there, I found someone had door-glitched through the Iron door but couldn't proceed.  There were glass blocks in the way.  Yippee, all that work, and the code doesn't work.  Beyond that, someone had used an exploit to get through the door in about 2 seconds, whereas I had searched for over seven hours.  Seven hours of iterating through clues, meaningless signs, and various code-cracking methods...

Anyway, my search led to a few conclusions:
1.  The code is 4-5 digits.
2.  The "Island" area behind the door had been blocked off because of the exploit.
3.  The Island cannot be accessed by anyone below the rank of Citizen - I tried the door exploit, and it denied me access.
4.  If the island IS accessible via use of buttons, the code is a minimum of 5 digits.
5.  One of the buttons clears the code you inputted, however, the code does not reset by default after clicking the entry button.
6.  If the code does work, the buttons directly teleport you to the island after the correct code is inputted.

If my conclusions are incorrect, and it is possible to enter via use of the code, just let me know.  There are a few iterations left I haven't tried.

Otherwise: please enable the code.  If the iron door is the cause of the code being disabled, possibly replace it with a piston door that can't be exploited?  If the code is enabled, could an administrator or somebody who knows the code test it to verify it works?

Anyway, this has caused me enough annoyance, please let me know whether this was intentionally disabled or I just have the code wrong.

Thanks

Pretty sure you have the Wong code

I tend to feel like you have the wrong code too, but would be interested in going through some of these clues / trips you've done. while there is the door glitch I don't feel this belongs in bugs and its unlikely that we will get any confirmation from the powers that be on your conclusions (unless there is an actual bug).

my thoughts on your conclusions...

1.  The code is 4-5 digits. Not sure how you came to this? but I have tried all combos from 1-5 button(s) with non repeating use, ending in the one specified in the clue
2.  The "Island" area behind the door had been blocked off because of the exploit. This is most likely an accurate assumption, but a command block could remove these glass blocks upon successful code entry
3.  The Island cannot be accessed by anyone below the rank of Citizen - I tried the door exploit, and it denied me access. This is most likely true and could be based on where clues are located, but again a command block could either increase the users rank or just allow them access to the area
4.  If the island IS accessible via use of buttons, the code is a minimum of 5 digits.  this would make sense as any less than 5 buttons would make the code too easy. Now as to whether the code will take you to an "island" or allow you entry to the room remains to be found out by anyone
5.  One of the buttons clears the code you inputted, however, the code does not reset by default after clicking the entry button. Could you elaborate more on this? How do we know anything clears the code or if the code try resets after x seconds? etc..., actually it would be nice if we know for certain that pressing the door button attempted the code and reset it also
6.  If the code does work, the buttons directly teleport you to the island after the correct code is inputted. Is this a question or a statement? If its a question we unlikely will get an answer, if its a statement how do you know unless you have to code?

All my answers are designed to engage in a convo with you on this as I am curious as to the code also and whereabouts it takes us and what rewards there will be. so hopefully the tone of my replies are seen as an open dialogue and not being abrupt or anything as that was not my intention Smile
