Novel - Dragon1240 - Mar 17th, 2017
BACKGROUND INFO: In like 6th grade I got bored and with a friend we started a novel idea. We have since stopped and thought about creating a new one but this is the one we have been working on and off over the past 2 years. Have fun.
Chapter 1: The Merge
Nobody knew how to speedrun. Nobody knew how to craft. Nobody knew how to grind. Nobody knew how to slay zombies, slay creepers. Nobody knew how to survive in this new world. Nobody knew, except us. Before “it” happened they called us all one thing “Nerds”. We were outlier of the world, the nobodies but the everybodies amongst our people. The world didn’t realize how much they need us until,the line between reality and gaming was no more.
The nerds was one of the few things left functioning after the merge. Although we did have some issues, “The Geeks” and “The Dorks”. All of us had no lives, no friends except for our own, rarely seen out in the public, but most importantly we were gamers. Now we're survivors fighting for reality. Those who we took in were also able to survive the beginning of this epidemic but we didn’t take in enough. Skyler, Diana, Ian, Leah, Melody, Nicole and Christian were the only ones we were able to take in. I am Brayton, leader of Nerd Nation aka “Nerds” I have Carter,Luke,Isaiah, and Noah as my ragtag team of nerds. Carter and I were the Minecraft gamers, and Carter also played a lot of Nintendo. Luke and Isaiah were the TCG gamers. Noah was the MMORPG gamer. I was also the FPS gamer. Carter was also our speedrun gamer.
Skyler and Diana were a couple at the time we took them in. Ian and Leah are Carter’s sworn enemies but best friends with Melody. Nicole and Christian were best frienemies. Christian hated Nicole for being the smarter one but liked her for her looks and Nicole hated Christian for his looks but like him for his courage and bravery, and me well I was the loner. I was known as the loner being given the nickname of #Mr.Lonely on the math bowl team.
Now what was “it”. We can call “it” The Merge. The Merge was when reality and gaming crossed paths and became one and Googelsoft the largest company on the interwebs at the time was one of the main causes of ,”The Merge”, when it’s servers crashed and when rebooting mashed all the data into one server releasing the gaming world and the internet into reality. You had Pac Ghost, Sonic, Wario and Bowser, Space Invaders, from every meme on the internet to every video game character ever programmed it was now running free, and I was was the world’s last hope.
Chapter Two : The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree
He wrote that 12 years ago. My dad, Brayton. He went MIA on a secret operation hosted by the Nerd Nation 8 years ago. The Geeks were wiped out only a few months prior from an army of Meta-Knights. Nerd Nation teamed up with the Survivors, but that alliance broke when our parents went MIA, and The Dorks to try and survive this thing, maybe even defeat these things. Not only my dad went MIA, the entire upper body of Nerd Nation. Luke, Isaiah, Noah, Carter and even Ian went MIA on the same operation. Only Xavier a former Dork knows what really happened. He now leads Nerd Nation with me his 2nd in command. Xavier says my dad was a good man. Now the main offense for Nerd Nation was me and Xavier. Although Xavier hasn’t been himself lately as after “it” happened Xavier never was able to find his family, spare his daughter I don’t know much about Xavier but what I do know is shady. Supposedly he was supposed to go on the mission my dad went on but he couldn’t go for some reason that nobody knows. I wonder if I should investigate more?
Anyway, now, the new Nerd Nation has formed, and we’re devoted to wiping out this epidemic that has killed so many. It is gruesome almost like this has been coded specifically for destruction. All the good video game characters have been wiped out, or changed evil.
In Nerd Nation there is Serena (age 16, like the rest of us), Carter’s daughter (most mothers are unknown) , who, much like her father, prefers to use old school weapons, like swords and tunics, ancient relics, she is obsessed with finding all three pieces of this old triangle thing, she already has one of them, which brings her great wisdom and telepathic abilities. She also has several other tools to aid her on her journey, the fire, water, wind, and sand rods, the hammer, and the hookshot, which can get here across massive gorges in a single bound. However, unlike her father, she was in peak physical condition. She may have gotten this from her mother, which is unknown. She has flowing brown hair, like her father, and has brown eyes, like her father.
There is also Halite, Luke’s son. He is named this for good reason, as he never lets anyone go one beating him, constantly checking to see if his opponent was cheating. He prefers to fight from a more tactical style, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He specializes in ranged combat, especially lasers, but if he needs to, he can operate a gun extremely well. He has short blond hair and blue eyes.
Isaiah’s daughter’s name is Misty. She specializes in magical combat. She knows most spells and is not afraid to use any of them. She is obsessed with the Deathly Hallows. She must find all three and become the most powerful wizard in existence. She already wields the Elder wand and needs to find the two others. She has black hair and green evil looking eyes. She is extremely menacing, and takes no heed in killing.
The son of Ian and Leah is Frank. He fights hand to hand, no warning taken. He fights with only his fist, having mastered fighting and defense techniques. He takes a no caution approach and does it well. He is the sworn enemy of Serena, who prefers a more cautious and strategic approach. He is strong, muscular and beefy. He has a brown buzzcut and brown eyes. He is my best friend.
The daughter of Xavier is Cortana. She takes a technical approach. She has fleets of robots at her command and prefers to fight in vehicles.Though, when she has too, she is quite formidable hand to hand. She is working on a device that will flash all of the creatures out of this world. She has short black hair and blue eyes. She is Serena's best friend.
And finally, there's me, Scott. I am a Pokemon trainer, using their abilities to my advantage. They are way more powerful than humans. My team consist of Wobbuffet, Mewtwo, Arceus, Metagross, Blastoise, and my Mega Rayquaza. I am following in my father’s footsteps, as he was once the great leader of Nerd Nation. It will not be easy to become the next leader, though, as almost everyone is trying, but it’s mostly between me and Serena, so we have some competitive spirits toward each other. I have brown hair and brown eyes.
We have a threat to fight and we must use all our abilities together to fight it. We will avenge our parents. We are Nerd Nation!
Chapter 3: The Threat
It started out like any other day. I got up early to train. My pokemon needed more training than any of the other people did. I was training Wobbuffet's Mirror Coat by having him deflect lasers from Halite’s gun. Then Serena and Frank got up naturally ruining all of it. Serena came over to me and asked if anything was new. “No,” I said.
“I sense a disturbance through the Triforce,” She said.
Then Frank came out of the tent and said, “Oh, you mean that magical triangle thing that gives you magic powers and makes you think you're the chosen one.”
“Yeah well at least I’m not a primitive wild savage like you,” she snapped back.
Frank readied his fists, and Serena drew her sword. Luckily, just then, Xavier emerged from his tent. “What is going on out here,” He shouted.
“Nothing,” they replied.
“How are we supposed to fight off this threat with you two constantly at each other’s throats. We need to work as a team, lest we end up like…” He stared off into space, “Never mind, what’s important is you to make up.”
“I’m sorry,” they both muttered.
Just then a Sanic flew from the bushes straight at Serena. A laser flew from the back and hit the Sanic just before it could strike Serena. We all turned around and saw it was Halite who had shot it. “What would you guys do without me,” he said, “Probably die.”
Before anyone could remark, Misty came out of her tent, pointed her wand out and screamed “Crucio!” She hit Serena and knocked her to the ground.
“Watch where you point that thing,” Serena said.
“Sorry, I heard a massive noise and didn’t want to take my chances,” She said, “Anyway, you’re lucky that wasn’t a death curse.”
“Will all of you SHUT UP?!” Cortana screamed. “I am trying to sleep!”
“Sorry about that,” I said “Some Sanic just attacked Serena and we are trying to figure it out.”
“Not me,” He said. “I’m just regretting volunteering for watch duty, instead of staying at the adults camp. You guys handle this, I’m gonna go get a drink.”
“You don’t get it, that’s impossible!” Cortana said. “The Sanics are extinct! Only an attacker could have sent one”
We looked through the shrubbery and there was Bowser, Ganondorf, and King Dedede were out there, as well as an army of hammer bros
“We should go charge in there,” Frank said
“Well I think we should sneak around back while Halite snipes them from here and Cortana sends out a fleet of robots.”
Frank totally ignored here and charged out there. “What a moron,” Serena said, “Anyway Halite stay up here and shoot them, Cortana send out a fleet of robots, and the rest of us will sneak around back.”
“I think I’ll let you handle this,” Misty said. “I am attempting to find where the next Deathly hallow is”.
“I’ll go with here and help her track,” Cortana said and they ran off.
“No,” I said “I will stay here and command my Pokemon, well just my Wobbuffet, the others are at the hut.”
“Listen,” Serena said “For one, your Pokemon aren’t trained enough, two Pokemon and human fight shouldn’t mix, they can miss, and three we need you out there fighting, with your skills. You are an excellent fighter and I have a spare sword and Halite can spare a gun for you.”
“Fine,” I said and Serena gave me a sword while Halite gave me a gun.
“I’ll handle this as easy as it was beating Carter in a Pokemon battle.” I said to Serena “Wobbuffet, you stay here and wait for me.” I ordered Wobbuffet
“WOBBBBUFFETT!” Wobbuffet replied with a sad face as he really wanted some action.
“Serena and Halite you two stay here and enjoy the show. I got this.” I charged at the shrubbery to come into contact with a not very friendly King Dedede. He swung his hammer in the air at me only for me to jump on top of it to jump off it and fly above Bowser. As I flew above Bowser he shot a fireball directly up at me only for me to unholster Halite’s spare gun and shoot back at it deflecting it back down into the army of Hammer Bros sending them scattering.
“An army down, three to go!” I charged at King Dedede with Bowser chasing me down. I aimed my gun at King Dedede and quickly did a 180 degree turn facing Bowser with my gun and fired right at Bowser. He quickly fired a fireball towards me to stop the bullet. The fireball burned up the bullet and was heading for me. I quickly jumped into the air as the fireball barely missed my toe and hit King Dedede directly. King Dedede flew into the air from the explosive while I turned back towards the campsite and looked at Halite and gave him a wink.
“That’s my queue!” Halite exclaimed
“Wha-What queue?!? Serene exclaimed
“You’ll find out. Me and Scott made this up a long time ago. Before our fathers went MIA.” Halite explained. The King Dedede regained his balance whilst flying and turned his hammer downwards aim it straight towards me. Bowser fired another fireball at me, instead of dodging this one I slid to the right and put my sword at an angle under where I was just standing. “Halite!” The sound of his sniper rifle echoed for miles at the fireball flew above the sword, Halite sniper bullet hit my sword and reflected into the fireball sending it upwards into the falling King Dedede.
“Direct hit!” The King Dedede turned into some penguin meat and ash falling from the sky. I stuck my sword up for the pieces of penguin meat to fall unto it.
“Dinner acquired!” I looked at the uncooked penguin meat on my sword and turned towards Bowser.
“Do you mind to cook this? I don’t think you do!” Only for Bowser to fire another fireball towards my direction. I put my sword towards the fireball so it could cook the penguin meat. Except when the fireball hit the penguin meat it overcooked it.
“Dinner lost. Bowser overcooked the penguin meat. I guess we’ll have to go hunting later or eat some leftovers!” I said over the radio to Halite and Serena
“What about Frank?” I heard Serena say over the radio
“He must be hiding somewhere! Anyway I don’t have time to think about him! He is probab* AHHHHH.” I screamed as I felt the fist of a thousand punches hit my gut to look up and see Ganondorf slamming his fist into my gut sending my fly across the terrain. I sat up to see a fireball being charged up inside of Bowser’s gut. I prepared for the fireball to hit me but out of nowhere I saw Frank pop out of nowhere and start riding on the Bowser’s back. He jabbed punches into the Bowser until he jumped off and landed behind the angry Bowser. The Bowser turned and looked at him preparing to fire another fireball to fire at Frank. Except Frank charged at Bowser and shoved his fist so far down his throat the fireball inside of Bowser that the fireball he was charging up exploded inside of it, blowing him into chunks.
“Scott, first you lose our dinner and now you let Frank save you? You are on watch duty tonight instead of me because I am about to save you instead of this loser!” Serena exclaimed over the radio
“If you say so. If you think you can save me, be my guest and if you do. I will scout the camp for the next week, and Frank go back to the camp! This time also listen to orders!”
“You got it boss.” Frank exclaimed
Serena handed something to Halite and charged down towards me. Ganondorf smacked me out of the way and charged toward Serena. He lunged at her but she launched her hookshot to the side and hit a tree, pulling her over to it. Ganondorf fell to the floor. She sprinted over and thrust her sword into Ganondorf’s head impaling him. I ran over there and said “Well that was easy.”
Just then Ganondorf transformed into some sort of pig monster. “Oh no!” Serena screamed. “He’s back as Ganon”
I swung my sword at him but it shattered to pieces. “He can only be harmed by magical weapons.” Serena said.
I fled and hid in the bushes. Serena swung at him and hit him. He didn’t even try to dodge. Then Ganon charged at her forcefully, knocking her back into the ground. She charged at Ganon and dived toward him, but he teleported out of the way. Ganon teleported next to her, and thrust his fist down to punch her, but she stabbed at him with her sword. He stumbled backward and charged at her with a radiating dark force glowing around him. Serena rolled out of the way but was too slow. Ganon hit Serena with one of his tusk and sent her flying towards the camp where she landed on top of Halite sending his sniper rifle flying towards Ganon.
“Nooo!” Screamed Serena
“Stop Ganon for destroying it! That arrow loaded in the barrel is the only weapon that can stop Ganon!” Screamed Halite. I saw Ganon rushing towards the sniper rifle to destroy it along with the arrow. I had to do something since I was the closest to the sniper rifle hiding in the bush, but Ganon would see me and attack me too!
“Think fast! Think fast!” I quickly thought to myself. I realized it! I still had Wobbuffet outside of his pokeball!
“Wobbuffet use confuse ray on Ganon!” I screamed towards Wobbuffet
“WOBBBBBBUFFET!” Wobbuffet exclaimed. A purple ray then hit Ganon making him turn and slam right into a building.
“This is my chance!” I ran out of my bush for the sniper rifle and did a barrel roll over a pile of shrubble and grabbed the sniper rifle. I quickly aimed not knowing how long the confusion would last. I fired blindly towards Ganon hoping the arrow would hit him. The arrow slammed right into his knee. He used to be a mighty fighter indeed until he took a confusion ray and an arrow to the knee indeed!
“No!” Ganon screamed as he was reduced to a pile of ashes.
Serena started rummaging through the ashes frantically. I walked over to her and asked, “What are you looking for?”
She responded, “I don’t understand. Ganon should have the Triforce of Power. It’s what gives him much of his power. He must be drawing from an external source, so someone must of sent him. What I don’t understand is how someone could’ve taken it without killing him.”
“Well,” I said “It must have been someone very powerful.”
“The way I see it,” Serena said “There are two possibilities. One he has a super powerful ancient relic no one has heard of, and then he would have to know lots about Nintendo, or he has the Resurrection Stone, one of the Deathly Hallows, that can bring anything back to life.”
I looked in the ashes and saw a hammer. “What is that?” I asked.
“Woah” she said looking at the engravement, “This is Thor’s hammer. This must be his source of his power.” She tried to lift it, but was completely unable.
I walked over to it to try to lift it. I grabbed it and pulled upward. I lifted it up.
“Woah,” Serena said.
I swung it around to make a storm and a giant pillar of lightning appeared above my hammer. “Oh yeah!” I yelled.
Then Kool-Aid man burst through a tree having heard his catch phrase and said, “Hey, that’s my line.” Then he charged at me. I threw my hammer at him and he shattered, spilling Kool-Aid everywhere.
“You should have caught some of that,” complained Serena. “That’s the final straw, you are definitely on night duty tonight.
So we walked back up to camp, I got Wobbuffet back into his Pokeball, and we went to the building where everyone was at. Xavier was back, and everyone else left from the battlefield.
“We’ve got something to show you,” Misty said, pointing to the locater.
Chapter 4: A Shocking Discovery
“We found the next Deathly Hallow,” Misty said.
“Really!” I said. “But one of those haven’t showed up for years.”
“Yes, we did,” She said. “We have to go after it!”
“We will soon,” Cortana said, “Wait a second, what is that hammer you're holding Scott?”
“Oh just Thor’s hammer, no big deal,” I said.
“Woah you were worthy,” Frank said. “That’s cool bro.”
“It’s a lot more than just cool, Frank,” Serena said. “Do you have any idea how much this could bring to the team.”
“How are you going to use that and your Pokemon, Scott?” Misty said
She was right! I hadn’t even thought of that. I had to choose the hammer or my Pokemon. “You’re right,” I said “I will carry my Pokemon in case we need transport or a battle situation presents itself to us, but I will primarily use my hammer.”
“All right,” Misty said. “Scott, Xavier, and Serena come with me. Everyone else, stay here and guard the camp.”
“I’ll call Melody to supervise you,” Xavier said. “You guys think you can handle 15 minutes without adult supervision?”
“Yes sir!” they all said.
“Okay then” Xavier replied. “Serena, Scott, Misty, go get ready then we’ll take off.”
I headed over to my tent to get what I needed. I decided to only bring Rayquaza in case we needed transport. I also brought a copy of a spellbook and a wand Misty gave me just in case.
We all met at the center of camp. Misty just had her wand, while Serena had her sword and a magical ocarina. Xavier had a pistol (It wasn’t loaded, he just smacked stuff with it.) and Captain America’s shield. He looked like his normal general self, like a white Nick Fury (Eyepatch and all. We’ve seen his eye, it is nasty. He won’t tell us where he got it from, just that he got it from a fight) but with a full head of black hair. “Ready to go?” He asked in his gruff voice.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I said.
“I can’t believe I’m getting to find another Deathly Hallow!” Misty screamed. “I mean, pretty cool, probably kill some people with it.”
Serena raised an eyebrow, “With the Resurrection Stone?” She asked.
Misty’s face turned red. “It could happen, Miss Smarty-pants,” She remarked.
“You two can argue later. But right now, we have a mission to do.” Xavier said.
“How are we going to get there?” Serena asked.
“We could apparate,” Misty suggested.
“No, that would draw too much attention to us,” Xavier said. “We’re not the only tribe out there.
“Well we could at least apparate most of the way” Misty said and before Xavier had any time to object we all grabbed hands and apparated about 500 yards away from the location of the Resurrection Stone.
Serena threw up. It was clear she had never apparated before. “Guess your not as tough as you claim to be.” I said
“Come on, let’s get on with the mission guys.” Xavier said.
“Well Scott’s right,” Misty said, “Serena should be a little tougher”
“Let’s just go guys,” Serena said.
We started walking toward the location when we ran into a Weegee, a fairly rare creature.
“Don’t look it in the eyes” Xavier said, “it’ll turn you into a Weegee”
“How are we going to kill it then” Serena said.
“Relax,” Misty said. “I got this.”
Covering her eyes Misty pointed her wand at it and screamed, “Avada Kedavra!”
A green bolt flew out of here wand and the second it touched the Weegee it died. “That was the death curse!” Serena screamed. “Are you mad?!”
“No, I just do what I have to do,” Misty responded. “Now let’s get moving!”
We sprinted forward and brushed away some light shrubbery to reveal a serene, silent field with a small, stone pillar in the center, presumably holding the Resurrection Stone. A group of people were about halfway to it but they fled at the once they saw us, like they were afraid of us specifically. We shrugged. “Looks easy enough,” Misty said. “You guys stay back here and back me up if I call for you.”
Misty started running out into the field. Nothing had come so far. Suddenly a horde of dementors rose from the ground. Misty panicked for a second, but then looked extremely confident. She closed her eyes for a moment and then screamed, “Expecto Patronum!” creating a white aura around her, throwing all them far away.
“Been practicing that for weeks,” She said.
So she inched up a little further when an ogre came out. “Stupefy!” She yelled, but that did little to it.
The ogre smacked her hard, right in the face, sending her flying. It raised its club up to kill her. I had to do something! If only Xavier’s gun was loaded. Then I remembered, the spellbook! I threw it at the ogre, not the best decision in the world. But it worked! In retrospect, I should’ve thrown my hammer. Anyway, I now had a massive ogre storming toward me and my hammer wasn’t going to do much damage. I took it out anyway. Just about as I was going to throw my hammer at it I heard someone scream, “Avada Kedavra!” and the ogre toppled over, dead.
It was Misty who had done it. “Thanks,” I said
“No problem,” She responded.
She ran back into the center, but a problem arose, the biggest one of all, Voldemort appeared. He didn’t hesitate, “Avada Kedavra!” He yelled.
Misty rolled out of the way just in the nick of time. She yelled, “Avada Kedavra!” But Voldemort apparated out of the way.
“Dang!” Misty yelled. “I don’t know the no apparition curse.”
I didn’t know what she was going to do. Voldemort could just dodge any spell. Misty would tire eventually. Suddenly, Misty looked as if she had an idea. “Sectumsempra!” she screamed.
This one Voldemort couldn’t dodge, it was instantaneous. I gigantic gash opened up on Voldemort, making him bleed tremendously. In a last effort to win (and an effort to make this chapter longer) Voldemort screamed “Avada Kedavra!” but missed entirely, hitting a squirrel off a tree.
Misty pointed her wand at him. Giving no mercy, she screamed, “Avada Kedavra!” and he was dead.
Misty ran to get the Resurrection Stone. This time she was successful, taking the tiny purple stone off the pedestal. Nothing seemed to happen, so we all ran to the center with her. “Guess this disproves our theory,” I said to Serena.
We apparated back to camp, not needing to conceal ourselves anymore and saw that everyone was in the main tent. When we walked in, we saw everyone sitting there, bored out of their minds. “How’d it go?” Frank asked.
“Hmm... based on the fact that we had the Resurrection Stone,” Serena replied, “I’d say it went pretty poorly.”
“Wait!” Melody exclaimed, shocked. “Yo-you got the Resurrection Stone?
“Yeah,” Misty said proudly.
“Tha-that’s great,” She forced out of herself
“So, let’s use it to bring our parents back,” Halite said.
“No, you twit,” Misty said, “The stone depresses a person if they’ve been dead too long, because they belong among the dead. And our parents our long dead.”
“She has a point, Halite,” Melody said, looking a little concerned.
“Okay,” Halite groped, disappointedly and we all went back to our tents.
Chapter 5: An Unexpected Visitor
I had watch duty that night. I was not happy about it, as it had been a very long day. The camp was very creepy at night. The dim moonlight reflected down and casted an eerie glow on the trees and tent. Plus, nights were usually incredibly dull.
I was sitting there who could have possibly sent the Sanic and the attack. And who were those people who fled at the sight of us. They obviously could’ve taken it, and the other tribes weren’t exactly friendly. Why would they be afraid to see us specifically?
I was interrupted from my thoughts by the sound of an intruder crawling into base. I drew my hammer and shouted, “Who goes there,” I screamed
A tall, desperate looking human crawled into base covered in blood. He had a brown buzz cut and dark brown eyes. “Help me,” he gasped and then passed out.
I started to panic. He was about to die! I took him to the main tent where there were medical supplies. Luckily, Misty was still up and she was in the tent. “What happened?” she asked
I put him down on the table. “He needs medical attention,” I said. “Quick, use a spell while I go get the others.”
I ran out and sprinted to the adult’s tent (It was Melody with us tonight, supposed to be Leah, but Melody lost a bet) and yelled, “Up, and to the main tent, it’s an emergency!” and she ran over there.
I did the same for every person at the camp until everyone was there. “I couldn’t find a wound, this isn’t his blood,” Misty told me.
“Who is he?” Cortana asked.
“I don’t know,” Melody replied. “But I don’t trust him.”
“Let’s talk to him before making any assumptions,” Serena said.
“He came out of the wild!” Melody said. “We know nothing about him. For all we know he could be leading another attack straight to us.”
“For all we know he couldn’t,” Serena said.
“Guys we don’t know anything!” I said. “I’m with Cortana, let’s wait until he wakes up to make assumptions”
It was about 30 minutes until he finally woke up. Melody was the first to speak. “Who are you and where do you come from?!” She asked.
“I’m Ebinal,” He responded his voice quavering, “and my tribe dead. They were recently massacred. Who are you?”
This time Serena managed to speak before Melody. “She’s Melody, I’m Serena,” She started pointing at us, “that’s Scott, Cortana, Halite, Misty, and Frank.”
“Hello,” Frank said.
“Shut up, doofus!” Serena replied.
“Halite, that’s another name for salt, is he a salty person?” Ebinal said.
Serena chuckled, “A little, but not as much as his dad, Luke.”
“Luke, that name sounds familiar,” Ebinal said
“Probably someone from your tribe,” Cortana said.
He pointed to a portrait of the former Nerd Nation. “Can I see that picture,” he said.
“Sure,” Serena said, handing it to him.
He pointed to Noah, “This is my father, Noah, he went missing 8 years ago.”
“Not possible,” said Melody, “Noah never had a child”
“It does make some sense,” Serena said. “From what we know, Noah was very distrusting, and was always leaving. Who knows, maybe he could’ve had a child that we didn’t know about.”
“If you were Noah’s child, you would know this,” Melody said. “Nerd Nation used to have a rival tribe, who was it, what happened to them, and what was your father’s and Isaiah’s main enemy?”
Geez, I didn’t even know the final part of this question, this was hardcore. “Our rival tribe was Geek Group and they were wiped out by an overwhelming army of Meta-knights. Noah’s main enemy was Cameron Dibble and Isaiah’s main enemy was Matthew Vigato,” He replied.
“Good job,” Melody said, “color me impressed. Welcome to the team.”
“How do you fight?” Halite said, suddenly intrigued, “I did extensive research on the team, and I thought I was the only one who knew this.”
“I used to have power armor, if someone could build me some,” Ebinal responded.
“On it!” Cortana said, already running to her tent.
“Great to have another member on the team,” Serena said. “Anyone to keep me away from Frank.”
“Yeah!” Frank said, “wait, what.”
“See what I mean,” Serena said.
“I’m just happy to have a team again, after mine died,” Ebinal said.
Ebinal went to Frank's tent to sleep and I resumed guard duty. At least I can say I had some fun in my night. I went behind a rock thinking maybe I could sleep. About an hour later, I heard some twigs snap and saw Melody going to meet someone out back. Wonder who it was. Guess it’s none of my business.
Chapter 6: The Next Triforce
We rose early the next morning. The sunrise was beautiful, orange, yellow, and red rays were reflecting off everything at camp. We went to the main tent for breakfast. While we were eating, Serena asked Ebinal, “So what was your old tribe like?”
“Well,” Ebinal responded. “It was a very demanding tribe, we had to train constantly. I’m glad to be with you,you seem more laid back. Plus we were constantly at war with this one tribe, the survivors, they didn’t deserve to survive, they weren't gamers, but they found this ancient relic that gave them extreme courage. They were very formidable.”
“That must’ve been the triforce of courage!” Serena said, “Where were they located?”
“Yes, that’s it!” said Ebinal. “They are located near the Temple of the Jedi.”
“We have to go!” Serena screamed.
“Let’s wait for Melody,” Halite said.
“Are you kidding?!” Serena asked. “She’d never let us wage war with another tribe. If only my father were here, he’d do it in a heartbeat.”
“I can apparate us there,” Misty said.
“Yeah,” Serena said. “Ebinal stay here with Cortana, she is making your suit. Everyone else come with us.”
“I’m not so sure abou-” Halite started to say, but it was too late, we were already apparating.
When we arrived, Halite started vomiting. “Don’t worry,” Serena said. “I did that my first time, too.”
When I looked down at the tribe, I saw some faces my father once knew (I knew this because of my dad’s diary, which had pictures attached.) I saw Kenna, Alayna, Aiden, Mattil, Molly, and Baylee.
Kenna was a tall, slim girl with long flowing red hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a tight black jumpsuit and black running boots. Alayna was the polar opposite of Kenna, a dainty-looking, slim, short girl with hazel hair and sparkling blue eyes. She wore the same thing as Kenna. Mattil was a decently sized man of obvious Mexican descent with black hair and eyes. He wore a robe and turban showing his Muslim religion. Aiden was a tall, muscular man with a short red buzzcut and large, green eyes. He wore a sleeveless shirt, tight denim shorts and he boasted two gauntlets on his hands. Molly was a very tough looking girl. She was on the shorter side, but it didn’t matter at all. She had a massive diagonal scar across the center of her face, had piercing black eyes, wore a necklace made of human bone pieces, and had intimidating black hair. She wore the usual jumpsuit but also wore a large hat with a human skull imbedded in it. Not the type to be reasoned with. Baylee seemed to be the exact opposite of Molly with hazel hair and welcoming brown eyes giving here a welcoming appeal. She wore regular tie-dye clothes
The area seemed to be a small village fit for several people, which was odd because this town was only home to a handful. It was extremely nice, having three automatic farms, many luxury two story wooden houses for the residents, a small pub, and a freaking recreation center. Our camp didn’t have anything like this. We had small tents for each resident and a large central tent where we did everything else. I wonder if the adults from our tribe lived like this.
We had to get to the center of their camp to get the Triforce, and it wouldn’t be easy. “Try to kill as few as possible,” I said.
“Attack only if attacked?” Halite asked.
“Just walk in and see what they do. If they draw their weapons we draw ours. Remember, our objective is the triforce, not to kill.” I responded. We all walked down towards the camp except for Halite who set up a sniper’s nest on the hill. We walked down knowing we had our backs protected by one of the best snipers around. Some of them saw us coming down the hill and prepared their weapons for what's to come. Hopefully it isn’t a fight. I thought to myself. We walked into camp right by a tent before a gang of them surrounded us?
“Who are you? Where are you from? Why are you here?” They all screamed at us.
“I believe you knew our fathers, or at least my dad. Or he at least knew who you were.” I responded back
“Are you? The new leaders of Nerd Nation? The one who looked like Aiden responded.
“That would be us.” Serena responded back.
“They owed us. They accidentally killed one of our men in the beginning of this mess. About eight years ago on a mission, one of our men we’re doing reconnaissance and they shot him because he saw what they we’re doing when it was supposed to be a secret mission. Our guy crawled back to camp where he died minutes later. It’s a shame though, he never did tell us what your fathers we’re doing.” Kenna responded with a frown on her face. I turned towards Serena as she had shock in her eyes as well as Frank. They both knew that they we’re talking about the mission our fathers went MIA on. I gave Serena and Frank a nod letting them know that I as well knew it was the same mission.
“You know what happens to the people who kill our friends?” One of the others responded with a smirk on their face
“No. But I don’t wish to find out.” Frank responded with a crunch on the knuckles. I checked my surroundings and realized that one of them was missing, Aiden.
“They die.” Aiden said from behind me jumping out from behind a boulder that was behind us. Frank jumped behind me and put his fist out. The crack that came from Aiden’s bones should not sound like the sound it made. Almost like when you crumble up a piece of paper. Alayna fired her massive laser rifle at Serena sending a huge beam of blue plasma hurdling towards here. She was more than ready to cope with the blast, and she used her sword to launch it into the air. Halite shot it and sent it hurdling back at Aiden. He took the blast full force sending him blasting downward, leaving a massive crater in the ground.
“This won’t be as easy as we thought,” I heard Mattil tell Molly. Aiden recouped with no trouble at all, standing back up not five seconds after he fell. He charged towards us full force. This time Mattil threw a bomb at him, launching him high in the air before he came plummeting towards us. I prepared to whack him with my hammer, but Molly tackled me and stabbed me in the leg with a knife before running away. With no one to protect us Aiden crashed his gauntlets straight into Frank’s face, sending a shockwave that knocked us all over.
Baylee pressed a button on a remote control and a massive wave of flying robots coming towards us. Halite managed to shoot a good chunk of them down with an explosive arrow but their were still hundreds of them flying towards us. Halite was holding them back while we dealt with Aiden. He was punching the crap out of Frank. Misty pointed here wand at him and yelled “Crucio!” The extreme pain sent him into a raging fit toward Misty and he hit her sending her flying and knocking her unconscious.
Fortunately this had temporarily disabled Aiden long enough for Frank to regain his wits. His face was extremely bloody and probably required a trip to the nurse. Nevertheless, he was able to step back up and continue fighting. Serena shot Kenna with her slingshot to distract her. I started swinging my hammer to generate electricity and fired a massive bolt at them. Kenna countered with an amazing pillar of fire. They both connected and a massive explosion was created, knocking both sides off their feet and onto the ground.
Halite had mostly defeated the robots and we were all up from the the explosion, so I knew we were clear. We all got up a charged at the other side. I aimed for Kenna first. She appeared to be great at close-up combat, using her staff as a weapon. I swung my hammer at her and she threw up her staff to block and slid my hammer back to my face. She looked ready to drive her staff into my face but Halite fired a massive stunning bullet into her face leaving her dazed. I got up and smacked my hammer into her face, knocking her to the ground.
I ran over to go assist the others with Mattil and Molly. Molly threw a knife at my injured leg and I dropped to the ground from the pain. Frank lunged quickly at Molly but she rolled out to the left making him miss by inches. She extended her knife cutting off his left arm. He screamed out in agony before falling to the ground in a pool of blood. Serena swung her sword at Molly but Molly jumped over it and backflipped, away from Serena. Serena grabbed her hookshot and prepared to stab Molly but Alayna fired at her sending her flying backward. Mattil then threw something that latched onto her. Molly ran away towards her teammates. “Yeah,” Serena screamed, clawing her way to the ground, “You better run.”
Just then a bomb exploded on Serena sending her flying backward. Good thing she was wearing her red tunic, or she would have died. I managed to regain my footing and charged towards Molly. She swung her knife at me and I jumped off it and smacked her in the face with my hammer, knocking her unconscious. Alayna shot me with a plasma bullet and I went flying backward and landing hard on the ground. “That’s it,” Baylee said. “I’m going full out.”
Just then Baylee summoned a giant mech standing at least twelve feet tall. Frank managed to regain his footing and swung at the robot with his right arm. The robot stumbled backward but it didn’t leave much of a dent. The robot charged back at him and hit him, sending him flying to where Serena was lying. The robot then approached me. I took out my hammer hopelessly. It was getting ready to hit me. I braced for impact.
Another giant mech came down from the sky to fight this mech just about as it was about to hit me. I could see Cortana was inside. “I had to leave a little early,” She said. “Ebinal’s suit isn’t even done. Oh, and I brought some help.”
Melody and Xavier ran in from the brush towards the fight. Melody fired at Alayna and she fired back. The plasma exploded in the center of the battlefield. “You guys are the most irresponsible people ever for doing this!” Melody screamed. “You are so getting punished! But since we’re already here, let’s get that Triforce!” Then they ran to go fight Alayna and Mattil.
I started to run in but Aiden came up behind me and smacked me in the face. Guess he had recovered from the Cruciatus curse. The impact left me temporarily unable to move. He then ran in to go assist the others. Xavier smacked Mattil in the face with his gun making him fall to the ground. He seemed to cover up though. An explosion shook the Earth as the trap on Xavier exploded. Xavier had protected himself with his shield though. Unfortunately video game logic did not apply this time because the explosive was on his hand on the inward side of the shield. He took the full force of the blow. Then I heard a massive “CRACK!” that didn’t come from there direction.
Meanwhile Melody was having a fps duel with Alayna. Alayna fire her plasma gun at Melody but she leapt over it and fired at Alayna. Alayna deflected the shot with her gun and sent it into the air. This brief time left her open and Melody fired into her face. A mysterious voice said “Headshot!” This one was looking pretty promising, until Aiden charged in and smacked Melody straight in the face.
In the mech fight, Cortana’s mech was punching Baylee’s a ton causing massive damage. Baylee decided to kick Cortana’s mech in the crotch sending it upward. Baylee’s mech jumped and smacked Cortana’s down into the ground leaving a massive crater. Cortana’s mech jumped right back up and attempted to punch Baylee’s in the face. Baylee’s juked left, dodging the strike. Cortana’s mech stumbled forward. Baylee’s mech charged at Cortana’s. She hit the mech hard leaving it hunched over. She raised her arms to deliver a finishing blow. That mysterious voice said “Fatality!”
I waited in anticipation for the blow. But it never came. She must have ran out of battery because I heard her yell, “Seriously, you can hit with ten thousand tons of force but you can’t stay alive longer than a few minutes!”
Cortana’s mech stood back up again. Cortana grinned as she uppercutted Baylee’s mech into the sky. Then her mech died. “Darn,” she said, “Well at least I didn’t die in the middle of the fight.”
Aiden rammed Melody back into a tree and punched her in the face numerous times. Fortunately, Melody had a metal plate in her head to protect from a certain triangular demon. Melody moved her head to the side and Aiden hit the tree and it fell over. Melody kicked Aiden in the stomach sending him flying over her into the forest. He begins charging at Melody only to be frozen in a pillar of ice. Melody turns around to see Serena wielding an ice rod. Aiden breaks out of the ice and charges at Serena. Serena jumps to the side. When Aiden ran past her she grappled onto him with her hookshot. She pulls him towards her and stabs him in the leg sending him to the ground. They then rushed over to help Xavier.
After the explosion Xavier lies on the ground. Mattil starts punching him repeatedly in the face. Xavier whacks him off him with his gun. Mattil flies back next to a plane. Xavier charges towards him. Xavier backflips over him and smacks him in the face with his gun. Serena and Melody then arrive. Mattil utters “I’ve had enough of this. I know what I must do.”
Mattil gets in the pane and starts flying off towards a tower. The others chased after him. They stopped near the tower but not soon enough. Mattil crashes his plane into the tower, thankfully abandoned, and it comes crashing down on everyone.
I manage to claw my way to my feet to rush over to my friends. They were under the stones of a building. Xavier got the worst of it, having a seriously mangled face, and lost an arm and a leg. Despite having a mangled arm that probably needed to be amputated Melody seemed relatively unscathed. Serena suffered practically no damage, aside from a few scratches. I said, “Me and Misty, who's probably conscious by now, will gather the injured. Serena, you and any other capable person will escort the Survivors to our prison. And get the triforce while you’re at it.”
“Yes, sir!” She replied, obviously not in the mood to argue. And we got on with it.
Authors’ note: Crashing planes into buildings is very serious. NEVER do it! This scene was added for climatic effects and Muslim stereotypes were for comedic effect. We do not think every Muslim is an extremist nor that Muslim are the only religion that wears turbans. We did not, in any way, mean to cause offense to anyone. WE thank you for your understanding.
Chapter Seven: In Soviet Russia
I dashed over to go subdue the remaining Survivors, and pick up Misty while I was there. I went to where Kenna was down first. I expected some sort of fight, most of them were probably conscious, but all I saw was a massive empty crater. That was weird but I figured she had just ran off. I ran to where Aiden was, but no one was here either, just another giant crater. I looked around some more but none of the other teammates were there.
The battlefield looked like trash. We had wrecked the place trying to get something that wasn’t even ours. The buildings were collapsed or severely damaged and the farms were in ruin. I tried to convince myself it was there fault for attacking us, but really, what would I have done if someone’s tribe had killed one of our members, and went in trying to steal our only chance at survival. I Didn't know if we were the good guys anymore.
After looking around and pondering all that junk I realized Serena had gotten nearly all the injured loaded onto the Chevrolet Silverado Chassis Cab, obviously the best truck on the market (no sponsorship, I swear) and I hadn't even gotten Misty yet. I walked over to where Misty had fallen and she was still unconscious. She didn’t even looked injured from the blow and should’ve woken up by now, which left me to wonder why she was still unconscious. (I got the idea that maybe it was because some lazy writer is writing a story about us, and was too lazy to include her in this scene, but will somehow include it as a plot point later. However I quickly dismissed that thought because writing this would take almost as much work as writing her into the scene.)
I shook Misty’s body. She jolted awake. She screamed, “He is the Rake!”
“What?!” I asked. “Did the Rake do this to you?”
“No,” She chuckled. “I just always wanted to do that?”
I punched her in the face. “What do you remember? Anything? Like what happened to the people we defeated?” I asked.
“We Won?! How did we pull this off?!” She responded. “I mean… I knew we could do it!”
“I didn’t exactly go very well though.” I told her.
“Did anyone die?!” She asked, in shock.
“No, first off, Cortana, Xavier, and Melody arrived to save our butts. Xavier got mutilated and Frank and Melody lost arms.” I replied.
“That sounds awful.” She said.
“It was,” I muttered. “Anyway, back to my question…”
“Oh yeah!” she remembered, obviously happy to changed the subject. “Last thing I remember I was getting pummeled by Aiden. Last thing I saw some one shot Aiden with a tranquilizer dart.”
“That makes a lot more sense. I couldn’t figure out why the torture curse would disable him so long. But who fired it?” I said.
“I have no clue,” Misty replied. “Anyway, I do remember waking up briefly only to feel a pang in the leg and fall back to sleep.”
“Well that confirms our suspicions,” I said. “A tribe is definitely following us. Anyway, let’s get going. The gang is about to drive off in that amazing car and we don’t want to wait for them to come pick us back up in the Prius. That thing is disgusting. (Even if there was a sponsorship, it wouldn’t have to include this because I, like every reasonable man in the world naturally think Prius is awful.I won’t even write no offense because anyone who likes a prius is someone I don’t mind offending. Unless you’re one the development team in which case sorry for offending you, but you are now off the team as my co-author handed off rights to the book to me. Also lose my number because we are no longer friends.) Plus, we got to tell us about this tribe following us.”
“Sweet, they brought the Chevrolet Silverado Chassis Cab, (I swear THERE IS NO SPONSORSHIP!!!) Let’s get rolling!” Misty exclaimed.
We ran over and got in the car. I had only been in this car once before and it was even better than I remembered it. THe felt so comfortable it was like I was sitting in heaven (THERE IS… NO SPONSORSHIP!!!!!). Xavier, Frank, Melody and Halite sat in the back of the truck while Misty and I were in the front with Serena driving. Cortana flew her recharged mech. Me and Misty told them about the the tribe than tranquilized everyone. Xavier and Melody stole a suspicious glare at each other.
“Maybe they were the same tribe running away from us when we got the Resurrection Stone.” Serena suggested.
“I think there just two random tribes from the wilderness,” Xavier said.
“Maybe you’re right,” Serena said disappointedly.
“Anyway, what you kids did out there was incredibly stupid,” Melody screamed. “That was impulsive and people got hurt. Maybe this will make you learn that there are consequences for your actions.”
“There so much like there parents,” I heard Xavier tell Melody.
“Hey look at the silver lining,” Frank said. “We get to get cool robotic limbs.”
“Frank,” Serena said. “Melody’s right on this one. People got hurt and it’s all my fault. It was my idea.”
“No,” I said. “It was all of our faults. We went along with your plan. I can deal with the fact that we got hurt. But we destroyed these people’s survival tool. We just barged in uninvited. Wouldn’t you attack if someone did that to you.”
There was silence for a moment. Then Frank said, “Those people said our father’s accidentally killed one of there men on our father’s last mission. Did we use to know these people?”
Xavier sighed. Following he said, “I don’t know much about the mission your fathers died. It was top secret. All I know is your fathers went on a mission one day and never came back. But yes, we did use to be good allies with these people until your parents went MIA. They just stopped talking to us and we didn’t know why. Now we know.”
“Are you sure that’s all you know about when our parents went MIA,” Serena asked.
“I know a bit more,” Melody added. “They were out to get a relic, the invisibility cloak. We saw an explosion in the woods where they were going. We looked there and found nothing. We searched for a week and nothing showed up. That was the end of it. They must of shot that man on accident.”
“Thank you Melody,” Serena said crying. “That’s more information than we ever knew.”
Then we arrived at camp. After that battle everything seemed more beautiful here. All the old white tents suddenly seemed knew. I was never more happy to see the training ground. We rushed Xavier, Frank, and Melody to the main tent where Leah was waiting there to treat them. Cortana had arrived before us and had told Leah everything. I went over to Cortana to talk. “Leah couldn’t believe that they were this injured. She said that they were too good to get injured like this. She’s seen them injured before but never this bad. She said Luke had gotten his arm chopped off before though and just got a robotic one,” She said.
“That’s good that they can fix it,” I replied.
“I know,” Cortan said. “Leah said he was even more powerful than he was before.”
“Okay,” I said. “Here’s the jist of things.” I told her about the conversation in the car.
“I wonder who that tribe was,” Cortana said.
