I think there should be a separate process in which you could turn a shroom into a random drug. I'm not sure about what the process should be, but this would put a use to the shroom, as its not really much profit from making them.

If you eat a shroom before entering an event, you can smuggle event exclusive items out. Pretty sure that's a bug though @Silas
