I'll try to keep it short
The main goal of this idea is to create options for players to create relationships ~positive/negative~ so that they have something to return to. (keep in mind, negative is inquiring a rivalry, for ex. craftinkreepist vs brainadg).
Many prisons have this type of center, so it would make sense to incorporate this into MCP. The recreational center is a public access room with multiplayer (or singleplayer) games inside. Some games can include checkers, giving home to an actual official checkers board. Other games like chess, trivial pursuit, etc.
I think this is a fun idea if you find a place to put it and would do no harm to the server.

Just throwing this out there if this suggestion actually happens.
I've built a working Catan arena in Minecraft so it is possible and should be in this center.

This is a fairly large project and isn't top priority right now. Not saying no in the future.
